About ‘Shoulders of Justice’ (Derryn X Mifflin Gelding)
When you’re choosing one horse out of 480 at the Karaka Ready to Run Sale, the process needs to be elite. ‘Shoulders of Justice’ wasn’t just selected… he was discovered through world-class data, expert analysis and a little bit of destiny.
Pedigree Analysis – A+ Rated
We engaged an independent team of pedigree specialists who analysed his lineage back eight generations. Their verdict: an A+ pedigree with the ideal genetic profile to run early and excel over 1200m to 1600m. He’s built to be fast.
The ‘Tikka Test’ – Heart Scan Approved
Using a third-party heart specialist, we measured the size and volume of his heart, a key indicator of stamina, recovery and overall performance. The result was an above-average score, confirming he has the “tikka” – the engine good horses need.
Moneyball Metrics – Elite Breeze Up Data
This gelding is quick. His breeze-up looked sharp and the data confirmed it. He clocked 10.47 seconds, one of the fastest times in the sale, with a 7.31 metre stride length and 2.54 stride frequency. Rated in the top 5 percent by performance metrics, and he did it effortlessly, showing a smooth, efficient action that points to natural speed.
Trainer Approval – Freedman-Level Confidence
Selected in partnership with Richard and Will Freedman, the team behind champions such as Makybe Diva, Stay Inside and Super Impose. They were impressed by his strength, temperament and raw speed. He is now in training and progressing toward a trial in the coming months before heading to the races.

Yes, there will be many organised events throughout the horse’s career. These will come in the form of open-stable mornings coupled with a few Good Day mimosas and raceday events, where you will be in an exclusive area trackside, cheering your horse home down the straight.

The standard available share for the horse costs $249 and is for 0.04% ownership. This is the minimum amount you can purchase. These figures maximise how many people can get involved at an affordable price. However, to increase the overall percentage of your ownership, you can buy as many shares as you like (e.g. two shares for $498 = 0.08% ownership). There is no maximum amount.

All share percentage prize money will be paid to individual owners using the wallet function on the Mustr website. Each owner will have their own log-in details to access the website. This function is currently being developed and will launch by the time ‘Shoulders’ is racing. It is standard Racing Australia protocol that your share percentage of prize money is paid after trainer and jockey deductions.

Mustr will work closely with relevant race clubs to accommodate as many owners as possible on each raceday. Raceday ticketing and mounting yard access is often limited and ballots will run when this is the case. Where owners are unable to be accommodated, Mustr will organise offsite events so everyone can enjoy the thrills of racing together.

‘Shoulders’ (Derryn X Mifflin Gelding) has already begun his education phase with Richard and Will Freedman and he’s progressing exactly as expected. As he is 2 years old, the current plan for him is to have his first educational trial early next year. If he continues to develop well, he is on track to make his raceday debut by next winter.

There will be a Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) issued in the coming day and will be viewable upon purchase. By consenting to the terms of the PDS you will become an official owner of ‘Shoulders’.
Mustr Racing is a registered micro-share syndication company with Authorised Representative Sire Custodians. A micro-share investment scheme has been set up for the ownership group of this horse and will be registered with ASIC.

Head to Mustr.racing at 6:00pm AEDT on 4 December 2025 and you will find a button to a page where shares can be bought. Once on the page, select as many shares as you like and follow the payment gateway.

While the Mustr owner’s portal is being developed, you will receive email and Facebook updates on a weekly basis. Updates will be in the form of video, voice message or images. Once the Mustr portal is up and running, these updates will be accessible in your owner’s newsfeed.

In the unfortunate event that his career ends early, the proportion of estimated training and insurance costs from your share will be refunded. The horse himself will be rehomed and relocated to live out his days as a happy horse in a paddock as per Mustr’s horse wellbeing policy.

Yes. The gelding was independently assessed by a certified veterinarian, prior to being purchased. The horse was x-rayed, scoped and physically examined which concluded he was a sound racing prospect.
